Potsdam

In the evening National Socialist Young Workers' Cell (NSJB), the Hitler Youth (HJ), the Bund Deutscher Mädel (BDM), youth groups of the Gewerkschaftsbundes der Angelstellten (GDA) and the DHV burned books on the Bassinplatz. The participants first sang the introductory stanza of the Deutschlandlied (German national anthem). During the keynote address, more books, mainly from schools and business libraries, were burned.
